July Pursuit Race

Cruiser pursuit race in Seaburn Bay.

90 minute race provisionally starting at 1.00 pm using PY handicap system. Race briefing at 11:00 am. Prize giving for this event not before 15:15 at SYC.

For those unfamiliar with pursuit racing. In a traditional race all boats start together with the handicap / rating calculation being applied after finishing. In a pursuit race duration is determined in advance (90 minutes). The slowest boat starts 1^st and sails for 90 minutes, faster boats start times are calculated using the handicap system and they start at intervals after the slowest boat. A boats position in the fleet after 90 minutes is her finishing position. All boats finish at the same time.
