Sailing at SYC

If you want to learn to sail, improve your racing, cruise the beautiful North East coastline or enjoy a drink with unrivaled sea-views, SYC offers everything you need and a warm welcome.

We are a friendly, family orientated club offering a warm welcome to anyone with an interest in sailing. Whether you are a beginner, looking for RYA training or seeking the competitive thrill of racing, we offer everything you need.

Our prime location makes us ideal for many water sports, we have active cruisers and racers in both dinghies and keel-boats as well as paddle-boarders and kayaks joining to enjoy the club's facilities.

Beach front access and a sheltered harbour for beginners and easy access to the wide-open sea for more of a challenge, it is the perfect choice for you and your family.

Club Dinghies

The club has a fleet of boats which are available for members to use at the club.

Club Keelboat

The club owns a Hunter 707 which is available for members to hire.
