RYA Level 1 success
Congratulations to the 5 new and existing members on the level one course over the bank holiday weekend. Everyone came on leaps and bounds in confidence and competence and Steve and I really enjoyed teaching the course. Teaching the entire course outside was a throwback to my years teaching abroad, without the temperatures to match, but the smiles and screams of delight were worth it. If you were on the course make sure you get

Lift-in thank you.
Many thanks to all those who played a part in making lift-in a safe and successful day. An awful lot of work went on behind the scenes before the day and continued on all through the day. It was a relief to many, to see boats start moving just over 12 months after we first locked down. Here's to a safe, healthy and hopefully more positive year.

The beach has changed...
Over the winter our beach profile has changed somewhat and we now have a lot more exposed rock. As you can see from the photo there is a strip of sand suitable for launching from. There is a large sandbank just below the rocks which over time will hopefully wash back in and cover the rock but until then if you are launching dinghies you need to be aware that when you get out it

The first steps towards a better year...
With the relaxations of some covid restrictions, small mooring work-parties have begun this week in readiness for a late April lift-in. Many thanks to all who have given their time in a slightly different way to how things have been done in the past. I know they have worked hard in a variety of weather conditions to make sure everything will be ready for the season ahead.

Winter Icicle Series
With the increasing dinghy activity at the club it would be great to see some dinghy racing happen over the winter months. With this in mind I am planning and will be running a Winter Icicle Series. Club dinghies are available to book online for these races for club members. It would be great to see as many participants over the series as possible so whether you normally sail a dinghy

Celebrating our youth members!
This weekend saw the final race for the RS Tera North fleet. Three junior club members have been taking part in this series and all attended the final race at South Windermere Sailing Club on Saturday. Weather conditions were glorious for the spectators however the wind conditions were challenging for the sailors due to the changeable wind direction on Windermere. After three races the series result was finalised. Rebeca Green took a second
